Later, we will visit the Casa de la Moneda and the Botero Donation, where are exhibited artworks of Fernando Botero, an internationally recognized Colombian artist in painting, drawing, and sculpture. Day 3: Bogota / Zipaquira + Guatavita

The duration of the excursion day with transfers is 9 hours. The duration of the Bogota-Guatavita transfer is 2 hours. The average temperature is +19C during the day, +9 C at night. Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will visit Guatavita and Zipaquira Salt Cathedral: A complete circuit through the so-called "Sabana de Bogotá". The territory now occupied by Zipaquirá, a city where Gabriel García Márquez went to school, was an important centre of trade in salt - vital to preserve food - before the arrival of the conquistadors. This mineral, the essence of the town (founded on July 18, 1600), is abundant in the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, a religious sanctuary built in an underground salt mine. It is one of the remarkable tourist sites in Colombia, the majestic Salt Cathedral built 180 meters deep in a salt mine. Later we will visit to the center of the town of Guatavita. The tour of the town will be short, as the town is small (it lasts 15 minutes). The lake of the same name is located 10 minutes from the village. The next destination is the Guatavita Lagoon, known historically and worldwide for the legend of "El Dorado". Guatavita, the sacred lake, used to be the ceremonial site where the Indians worshipped Chie, the goddess of water, during lavish ceremonies that gave rise to the legend of El Dorado. According to the legend, the Muisca Indian chief would arrive, covered with dust, on a wooden raft, with four of his priests and the treasures collected in his community. After throwing the treasures into the lake as a symbol of adoration, he would immerse himself in the water. For the natives, the value of gold was not economic, but a means to come closer to their gods. After the excursion we will return to Bogota, to the hotel. Note: The Lake is closed for visitors on Mondays

Day 4: Bogota – Pereira

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to El Dorado International Airport for your flight to Pereira (not included). Welcome and assistance at the Matecaña International Airport. Salento and Cócora Valley Later the journey to Valle del Cócora will begin, appreciating the landscape of this place. Hiking time, transfer to the palm forest where we can appreciate the biodiversity of fauna and flora of the place where we will take the ecological path of the highest wax palm in the world and national flagship tree, where we will do the ritual of the wax palm of Quindío; which it consists of knowing the history of how the aborigines worshiped this palm. Then, the planting of palm seedlings continues. In the Valley you can do optional activities such as ecological horseback riding, walks to exclusive and very special places in the valley, have a delicious typical lunch in a restaurant in the Cócora Valley (Not Included) and have a barista show of origin coffee in the Salento town at Café Jesús Martín. After this, we will roast specialty coffee beans on a wood fire in the kitchen of the typical country house where we can have an authentic coffee experience. During the tour, we have several stations with beautiful views of the natural environment of the place while we enjoy our cup of coffee. Day 6: Cartagena

Cartagena de Indias brings together the charm of colonial architecture, the excitement of a vivid night life, fascinating cultural festivals, and lush landscapes. Cartagena’s historic center, whose beauty and cultural importance caused it to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984, is surrounded by miles of ancient walls that form the walled city. In addition to the hundreds of years of history behind the area’s cobbled streets, you can explore the Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, a magnificent castle dating back to the 17th century. Also, during this tour, you will visit Bocagrande and Castillogrande, Gethsemane, Monastery "La Popa", Church San Pedro Claver. With forty-seven arches and twenty-three domes, Las Bóvedas (The Vaults) is easily one of the most architecturally interesting structures within the old city walls. Contstructed at the turn of the 18th century by the Spanish engineer Antonio de Arevalo, Las Bóvedas was originally intended as a munitions store for the fort and the local garrison. The structure is situated in the San Diego district, along the city wall between Santa Clara and Santa Catalina. These days, it’s an excellent place to find souvenirs. The area is absolutely buzzing with hawkers selling everything from trinkets to hammocks and paintings. Dear Anna, Alexandra, Iona and the rest of the team at Ada Tours
Feed-back from a happy, satisfied customer!
A very big thank you for your very efficient services, Hospitality and most importantly your patience throughout the tour of my client. Dr. Chrysantha Mendis is very happy with the entire Tour. You did a fantastic job by organizing a detailed tour package covering 7 countries, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Brazil. Dr. Mendis has enjoyed all the countries though he could not do a few tours in Peru which is understandable due to political unrest. We will recommend Ada Tours to all our clients in Sri Lanka and will start promoting your tours in our website.
Best wishes and kind regards,
Shamali
REVIEW №4- Carol
Hi Anna, thank you for the update on the glasses. I’ll wait and see what happens! Alan and I are now back in the UK. We loved our trip to the Pantanal and Bonito. Our guide, Alessandra was brilliant with lots of knowledge and very considerate and helpful. The only hitch we had was on our flight back to Rio because the second leg of the trip was cancelled and we were rescheduled to a later plane and our luggage was mislaid. Fortunately it arrived in Rio a day later, before we flew home. Thank you for arranging the trip.
Best wishes Carol

Hello Anna and Natalia,
Thank you for all your help with our trip! I know our group was difficult, and I appreciate your patience with us. We loved the tours, the horseback ride, and the absolutely beautiful lunch at the vineyard. Our guides and drivers were fantastic, especially Luis. And the hotels were perfectly located. It was such a convenience to be centrally located in both Lisbon and Madeira.
I hope you enjoy a wonderful holiday and I look forward to working with you in the new year!
