This phenomenon is the most intense in the mornings in December and early January. While nobody knows the depth of the lake (285 feet, or 87 meters, is the maximum depth reached by divers), the cavern is believed to date back 10 million years based on prehistoric animal fossils found on site. The descent, a staircase of 294 irregular steps, allows for the viewing of some sculptural stalactites and stalagmites. After lunch we will start the snorkeling tour in the crystal-clear river. The tour starts with a visit to the river spring, where you can see the water springing out of the ground. We start the snorkeling tour along the crystal-clear river. After putting on the climbing gear you courageously leap into a narrow crack in the earth, which subsequently widens into a vast cavern. Now you are hanging above an underground cave. A sunray shining into the side of the cave accompanies you all the way. One of the largest underground caves in Brazil, the abyss' walls are decorated with a fantastic array of stalactites and stalagmites. A 72-meter rappel straight down into the cavern brings you to an underground lake where you can dive or snorkel in the transparent waters with visibility at nearly 30 meters. The rope is used by the instructors to pull you back up onto the earth level.

There will be availability to take a bath in the crystal blue lagoon, and sand slide down the water, and finish off the tour by contemplation of the beautiful sunset in the dunes. Return to Barreirinhas around 19h00 and you can continue enjoying a bath in the hotel pool or go for a meal at one of the riverside restaurants. Overnight in Barreirinhas.

Day 15: Barreirinhas-São Luís

After breakfast we will embark on a speedboat for a trip on the majestic Preguiças River, with its calm waters. Dear Anna, Alexandra, Iona and the rest of the team at Ada Tours
Feed-back from a happy, satisfied customer!
A very big thank you for your very efficient services, Hospitality and most importantly your patience throughout the tour of my client. Dr. Chrysantha Mendis is very happy with the entire Tour. You did a fantastic job by organizing a detailed tour package covering 7 countries, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Brazil. Dr. Mendis has enjoyed all the countries though he could not do a few tours in Peru which is understandable due to political unrest. We will recommend Ada Tours to all our clients in Sri Lanka and will start promoting your tours in our website.
Best wishes and kind regards,
Shamali
REVIEW №4- Carol
Hi Anna, thank you for the update on the glasses. I’ll wait and see what happens! Alan and I are now back in the UK. We loved our trip to the Pantanal and Bonito. Our guide, Alessandra was brilliant with lots of knowledge and very considerate and helpful. The only hitch we had was on our flight back to Rio because the second leg of the trip was cancelled and we were rescheduled to a later plane and our luggage was mislaid. Fortunately it arrived in Rio a day later, before we flew home. Thank you for arranging the trip.
Best wishes Carol

Thank you for all your help with our trip! I know our group was difficult, and I appreciate your patience with us. We loved the tours, the horseback ride, and the absolutely beautiful lunch at the vineyard. Our guides and drivers were fantastic, especially Luis. And the hotels were perfectly located. It was such a convenience to be centrally located in both Lisbon and Madeira.
I hope you enjoy a wonderful holiday and I look forward to working with you in the new year!
