Day 1 - Managua
From the airport you will be brought to your hotel. In the evening there will be dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 2 - Managua to San Carlos
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for a local flight towards San Carlos, initiating your adventure. At arrival you will be transferred by boat to reach the Lake Wildlife Refuge Guatuzos for a tour which you will observe the flora and fauna of the beautiful place. We will continue to Solentiname where you will have lunch and in the afternoon you will visit the island community of primitive painters. Dinner served in the hotel of your choice.
Day 3 - Rio San Juan
Today there will be activities starting at the lodge after breakfast. The activities will contemplate the ecological paradise of San Juan where many species of birds and reptiles which have penetrated the footpath. We will also be able to enjoy a cavalcade with horseback riding, bird’s site or handmade fishing in the banks of the river. It is up to you today. There will be lunch and dinner at the lodge.
Day 4 - Rio San Juan
In the morning after breakfast we will visit the Nature Reserve of Indio Maíz, where we will see innumerable wild animals in its natural habitat like crocodiles, monkeys, cormorants, and birds of many exotic species of the flora and fauna. Through the virgin Forest, we will visit the El Castillo Fort, built by the Spaniards to protect the City of Granada from the English pirates in the period of the famous Lord Nelson. Lunch will be served to you and after lunch we will return to the lunch where dinner will be served at your time.
Day 5 - San Carlos to Granada
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport of San Carlos for you flight back to Managua. Arrived in Managua we will go to the National Park Volcano Masaya and the Natural History Museum where it is possible to appreciate original samples of indigenous ceramics and learn the history of the volcano and its geologic formation of the area. We will go up the crater and if wanted there is possibility for adventure to enter the Cave of the Bats. After the adventure we will return to Granada and walk the streets with colonial delight and check in at the hotel of your choice.
Day 6 - Granada
After breakfast we will go towards the pier on a horse-drawn carriage for a boat ride along the Lake of Nicaragua. Taking you back to the eighteenth century, the city of Granada can be distinguished by its Colonial architecture. We will visit the Church and Archaeological museum of the Convent of San Francisco, the Cathedral, Church and Xalteva Square, Church “La Merced”, Church of Guadalupe, the fortress “La Pólvora”, are part of the architectonical beauty of the colonial building displayed in the city.
Day 7 - Granada to Isla de Ometepe
After breakfast we will depart to San Jorge Port where we aboard the Ferry to Ometepe Island. When arriving at the Island we will have a trip around the Island visiting the archeological Museum, Charco Verde, Punta Jesús María and the towns of Altagracia and Moyogalpa. From the Ferry we also have already had a quick peek of the Concepcion Volcano. Check in at the hotel of your choice.
Day 8 - Ometepe to Managua
When you have had breakfast we will return to the Ferry which will bring us to the city of Rivas. In Rivas we will visit the museum of Anthropology and History of Rivas and continue toward the route of The White Peoples. On the route of The White Peoples we will visit the Catarina, Masatepe, and San Juan de Oriente with handmade ceramics workshops, variety of sweets and wooden furniture, continuing to the Market of Crafts of Masaya. Eventually we will reach the capital Managua where you will stay in the hotel of your choice.
Day 9 - Managua to León
After breakfast we will make a trip to one of the most important cities, we will visit the most beautiful Cathedrals of Nicaragua where the great poet Ruben Dario is buried. You will visit the indigenous neighborhoods of Subtiava and admire the Volcanic Pacific Chain of Nicaragua where the Momotombo Volcano is part of with its impressive form constitutes the origin of the living areas around. The marvelous panoramic scenic of the Lake of Managua is also one of the attractions. Also visit León Viejo Ruins which is declared by the UNESCO Patrimony of the Humanity. There will be lunch served at a local restaurant and you will stay in the hotel of your choice overnight.
Day 10 – León to Estelí
After breakfast we continue our trip to Los Hervideros de San Jacinto, formation of the breathers of Santa Clara Volcano where we will have the experience to admire the beautiful small craters with boiling mud and water vapor. Continuing our trip towards the city of Estelí we will arrive at the Farm Neblina del Bosque that will offer us an experience of the daily life of a farm’s work and enjoy the Reserve Miraflor. You will be sleeping in bamboo houses and in the evening you will hear the sounds of nature. Meals offered are completely produced at the farm and bordering towns.
Day 11 - Estelí to Finca La Sombra
After breakfast we will have a horseback ride to enjoy this beautiful place and make contact with the people of this rural tourism farm. We continue towards the area of La Dalia in Matagalpa, where the climate is fresh and the scenery changes. La Sombra is an Eco Lodge, member of the Private Reserve of the Network of Wild Private Reserves of Nicaragua and of the Alliance of Networks of Wild Private Reserves of Latin America. Overnight we will stay at the La Sombra Eco lodge which is in an area of forests and mountains, births of creeks and crossing of the river Caratera, forming imposing cascades for the property: The Eden and the Sparrow-hawk. In addition to the traditional cultivation of the coffee, there are also strawberries, blueberries, vegetables and flowers of Jamaica that exist in this area. Before dinner we will do a trip down the paths of the farm and in the night during dinner we will have music of rural groups next to a bonfire.
Day 12 - Finca La Sombra
In the early morning after breakfast we will go towards El Macizo de Peñas Blancas Mountain, an impressive reserve that is part of the reservation Biosphere of Bosawás. The area includes one of the highest mountains of the country and it is known by its majestic and exuberant nature. You will find abundant ecosystems that include tropical forest and cloudy forest, cracked, big ravines, centenary trees of species in extinction, fauna and varied flora. Returning to La Sombra Eco lodge, dinner will be served to you.
Day 13 - Matagalpa to Corn Island
After breakfast in the morning we will return to Managua to take a flight to Corn Island, or Little Corn Island, area of the Caribbean Sea, paradisiacal place that waits with its white sand for you. When choosing to stay at Little Corn Island, you will have to take an aquatic taxi for staying on the small island.
Day 14 until 17 - Corn Island
These days are free and you can enjoy your time at Corn Island. You can enjoy the abundant fishing and taste delicious saucers of seafood newly extracted of the sea. If you like skin-diving, you will be able to do so in the crystalline waters full of coral reefs. On the small Island with its primitive captivation, there are no cars or buildings, but there are small restaurants and the Caribbean beauty people. Your stay on Corn Island is on basis of Bed & Breakfast.
Day 18 - Corn Island to Managua
After breakfast you will return to Managua. In Managua you will be picked up from the airport and brought to the Hotel for check in. Continuing a tour visiting the old downtown which was destroyed by a earthquake in 1972. You will also have a visit at the Presidential House, the National Assembly, the Rubén Darío National Theatre, the Music Palace, the monument in honor to the great poet Rubén Darío and the Culture National Palace which has a rich history and event. You will stay overnight in Managua.
Day 19 - Managua
In the morning after breakfast you will be transferred in time to the airport for your flight.
