Arraial de Cabo and Buzios
Arraial
do Cabo, Rio de Janeiro, one of the main points for diving in
Brazil, is nowadays considered as the diving capital of dive of
Brasil. It has such a geographical formation, that it allows diving
close to corals and islands. Its water life is boisterous, and
it houses various types of corals and animal species. At certain
times of the year the water is so clear that its possible to see
down to 35 meters of depth.
Búzios
/ RJ, with calm waters and pleasant temperatures is yetanother
beautiful diving point. The peninsula is surrounded by corals
around which a great number of submarine life concentrates, which
offers plenty to see to divers.
The
waters around Buzios are crystal clear with average temperatures
around 70 degrees Farenheit.
Snorkeling
and shallow diving can be done along the cliffs next to the beaches
of Joao Fernandes and Joao Fernandinho, Lagoinha, Forno, Azeda
and Azedinha in Buzios.
Half
a hour away lies Ilha da Ancora, where the average visibility
is of 40 feet and can reach up to 80 feet in the summer. Because
of its shape, there is shelter from the wind and currents and
you can see corals, many fish including monkfish, jewfish, anchovies,
barracudas and even green turtles.
