The
Big Island is a tropical paradise located in Angra´s Bay
municipal district of Angra dos Reis, RJ, the navigation is done
by fishers boats departure from Mangaratiba's Harbors and Angra
dos Reis, hour trip to the island. With 106 beaches, several rivers,
ponds, waterfalls, mountains and valleys the place is chosen by
many adventurous. The area of 192 km² , 1/3 of the territory
was considered part of the State Park of Big Island in 1971.

1st
day
Pick up at 6:00 hr direction Mangaratiba´s Harbor, departure
at 8:00 hr, arrival at Abraão's Town at 10:00 hr. After
lunch and accommodation in a great Hostels (pousada), we will
leave for an average walk the neighboring beaches.Free night to
know the center, bars and Abraão's Restaurants.
2nd
optional Day
After breakfast the choice of some specific itinerary:
- long walks for highest point of the island
Peak of the Parrot (Pico do Papagaio) 980 meters of altitude and
8 hours trekking.
Stone of water (Pedra D´água) 1037 meters highest
peak at the island 8 hours trekking..

day
Dive in the morning , after lunch return to Mangaratiba's Harbor.
Arrival time in Rio de Janeiro at 20:00 hr.

SCUBA DIVING Ilha Grande
'Ilha
Grande' , Rio de Janeiro is a tropical paradise lying at the 'Ilha
Grande' Bay, in the town of 'Angra dos Reis', Rio de Janeiro.
The access to the Island is through the ports of 'Angra dos Reis',
and 'Mangaratiba'.
The beautiful trip by boat takes about 1 ½ hours. With
it's 106 beaches, many rivers, lagoons, water falls, mountains,
and valleys, 'Ilha Grande' is the favorite spot for many adventure
lovers. A third of it's area (192 km²) is part of the 'Ilha
Grande' State Park since 1971. 'Abraão' village is the
main entrance way of the island.
There
are many diving options in Ilha Grande. The whole coastal area,
especially the bay inner part, offers excellent conditions to
dive. There are contless flagstones, parcels and shipwrecks, which
give refuge to an intense and diversified sea life.
The water temperature varies from 18 to 25ºC. The average
visibility rate is 10m in a normal day and 20m in very hot days.
