Diving in Bonito

Day 1

Arrival at the international airport of Campo Grande where assistance with nameboard is waiting for you. Transfer to Bonito in our comfortable air conditioned vehicle. Overnight in hotel Cabanas in Bonito.

Day 2

Day 2: After the delicious breakfast we visit the Blue lake cave in Bonito. Found by a Terenan Indian in 1924, the cave possess in its interior a blue lake with dimensions that make it one of Earths biggest flooded cave. In 1992 an Brazilian expedition of speleodivers found a series mammal fossils - as the Saber Tooth Tiger and the giant laziness - that lived during the Pleistoceno Period . Endowed by nature with a unique beauty, it impresses for its geological formation and the amazing blue colored water of the inside lagoon. Duration: 2 hours.

After a delicious lunch (included) we are ready to snorkel in the crystal clear waters of the Sucuri river. The Sucuri river starts on the eastern edge of the Bodoquena Hills. The tour starts with a visit to the river spring, where you can see the water boiling out of the ground. The visitors are taken to a wooden deck where they will board the support boat. After a 45 minute boat ride along the crystal clear river, the visitors can descend in to the river and start the snorkeling tour. The 750 meter long trip you can observe the rich subaquatic flora and fauna. An uforgettable experience. For those who do not want to go snorkeling, it is possible to stay in the boat and descend the river by boat and enjoy the flora and fauna at the river margins.

Day 3

Today after breakfast we dive in the Mimosa Cave (equipmentincluded). For this dive a Caver or Over Haerd certificate is required. Lunch is included in this tour. In the mimosa cave you will dive between the beatiful stalactite and stalagmite formations. This beautiful cave can only be appreciated plainly underwater.

Day 4

Without any doubt this is one of the most impressing places you will ever visit! Abismo guarantees incomparable emotional and visual effects. The excitement begins upon arrival, where the only way down is from a 72 meter cord. The necessary rapelling techniques are learned the day before with specialized instructors, trained to monitor the safety of the operation. The wonder of Abismo is attributed to the diversity of the formations, both in and out of the water. The surroundings are something of another world, definately different from anything you possibly could have experienced elsewhere. The dive or snorkeling tour is executed in an immense lake inside of a cavern. For anyone who has avoided cavern dives because of the inability to surface, this is the dive of your dreams! At any time on this dive you have the ability to surface inside the cavern. Floating among formations of more than 10 meters, you are overcome by the surreal dream like sensation of floating through a submerged city. (equipment included). Open Water Dive certificate needed. (in case of no certificate snorkelling on the watersurface in the cave is possible).

Day 5

In the morning after breakfast we do a discovery dive in the beautiful Crystal clear Formoso river. The special thing of this dive is that we dive directly under a waterfall. You find yourself in a world full of little white bubbles that feel like a dreamy paradise.
Afternoon free for an alternative program.

Day 6

After a delicious breakfast our transfer brings us back to Campo Grande in time for our flight.

Description Cabanas Hotel: Situated in the middle of a nature paradise, 7 km from Bonito, you will find the cozy Cabanas Hotel. Hotel Cabanas is situated at the banks of the crystal clear Formoso River and its side branch, the Formosinho River that has a beautiful little waterfall, to refresh the visitor on a hot day. Discover the natural paradise of the hotel. Wake up in the morning to the birds singing outside your room and enjoy the animals that live in the nature on the hotel territory.
Take a refreshing dive in the swimming pool. Take a walk on the hotel tracks that leads to the crystal clear waters of the Formoso River or the little waterfall of the Formosinho River. Do a boia cross tour (rafting on big round tires) down the wild water of the Formoso River.
