O Beijo

Founded in: 1983

Beijo was funded in 1983 by a group of Carnival lovers from Salvador. Initially the bloco was named "Mobi Dick". But after some gatherings with the commissaries, there was given the idea to change the name to something more sensual and more representative of the bahina Carnival. From then on the bloco becam known as Beijo (KISS).
Beijo has had various singers of Bahian music like, Luiz Caldas and Jorge Zárath. After that the bloco came to be represented by the "Banda Beijo" at the time the front man of the band was Netinho.
