Cameleão
Founded
in: 1978
The
bloco Cameleão was funded in 1978 by a group of young
students from Salvador. The objective was to become the most
business oriented Carnival's group. The name was a suggestion
of the sculptor Bel Barbosa, in honour of the chameleons that
lived in the Praça da piedade in Salvador.
Great bahian singers have singed in this bloco like; Luiz Caldas,
Sarajane and Carlinhos Brown. But since 1990 the Cameleão
started its traditional cooperation with the group Chiclete
com Banana and established itself as the best bloco of Salvador.
To commemorate all this success, the Chiclete created songs
that have become part of the history of the bloco. Songs like:
"Cara Caramba Sou Camaleão", "Meu Bem
Quero Te Amar", "Dê um grito aí",
e "É Mugegé".
