Acadêmicas D+

Founded in: 1990

The bloco was created in 1990. A group of medicine students from the University of the Escola Bahiana de Medicina" decided to get together on the Carnival's night.
From that moment on the bloco acadêmicas D+ originated, it soon attracted other universities getting a young audience with the age between 18 and 25.

Stimulated by their success Acadêmicas D+ decided to participate on the Friday parade also.
Later it took part on the Thursday parade which was a revolution at the time for the bahian carnival. Acadêmicos demais became the first group to parade on three consecutive days on the Barra/Odina parade.
Acadêmicas D+ have had great names at their blocos, names like Daniela Mercury, Netinho, Banda Beijo, Araketu, Terra Samba, É o Tchan, Ricardo Chaves, the electric threesome Armandinho, Dodô & Osmar, and others.
In 2006 the Band A Zorra will perform on Friday and Saturday of Carnival.
