HIKING THE TROPICAL TIJUCA FOREST
Half day
The
tropical Tijuca Forest houses over 900 plant species. Without
its natural resources the estimates are that the average city
temperature would be up to 2 degrees higher. The Tijuca Forest
is considered the largest urban forest in the world and a good
example of successful environmental policy. With its biodiversity
and great amount of paths, climbing and trekking routes, caves,
waterfalls and places with historical importance it is a very
popular area for nature and sports lovers.

Pick up at your hotel at 08.00 for a 2 hour hike up to Tijuca
starting at 09.30, passing beautiful nature and watefalls, until
a beuatiful view opens before you at the Tijuca Top.
Also there is a hike to the Biko the Papagaio, with a beautiful
view. This hike takes the same time but has a possibility for
a 40 m rappel at the top. The third possible route is to the Beatiful
Rock (Pedra Bonita), from where all the deltaflights jump for
an unforgettable flight over Rio de Janeiro.
