HIKING THE TROPICAL TIJUCA FOREST

The tropical Tijuca Forest houses over 900 plant species. Without its natural resources the estimates are that the average city temperature would be up to 2 degrees higher. The Tijuca Forest is considered the largest urban forest in the world and a good example of successful environmental policy. With its biodiversity and great amount of paths, climbing and trekking routes, caves, waterfalls and places with historical importance it is a very popular area for nature and sports lovers.

Pick up at your hotel at 08.00 for a 2 hour hike up to Tijuca starting at 09.30, passing beautiful nature and watefalls, until a beuatiful view opens before you at the Tijuca Top.
Also there is a hike to the Biko the Papagaio, with a beautiful view. This hike takes the same time but has a possibility for a 40 m rappel at the top. The third possible route is to the Beatiful Rock (Pedra Bonita), from where all the deltaflights jump for an unforgettable flight over Rio de Janeiro.
