CLIMBING RIO'S MOUNTAINS

Rio
is one of the main climbing centers in the World. The different
rocks and mountains of Rio can be climbed in a large variety of
climbing routes of different levels of difficulty and on different
altitudes. A good example is Sugarloaf (Pao de Açucar),
Rio's famous post-card image. This 395 meters high rock has more
than 100 options of access to its top, with every level of difficulty.
It's most frequented access to the top is the "Costão",
a trek that can be done by beginners.
The
trek to the top of the Sugar Loaf is a great option for those
who want know Pao de Açucar in a non-conventional way,
adding in a dose of adventure to the trip. On the way up, you
will have a clear and beautiful view of Rio de Janeiro and of
the Guanabara Bay. The trip takes about 2 hours and includes a
small and very easy climbing section, where security equipment
and procedures will be explainef to you by our experienced guides
to ensure total safety of the participants. On the way down we'll
take the cable car to 'Morro da Urca', and then a short 20 minutes
trail that ends up at Praia Vermelha.
You
can book this excursion if you are a beginner and have never climbed
before. We have many other itineraries and routes (some of a few
days) that we can offer to more experienced climbers. Also we
can offer climbing courses with professional instructors. Rio
