Early
in the morning we leave Asunción on the ASUNCIÓN-ENCARNACIÓN
highway. On the way, we visit the FRANCISCAN CHURCH OF YAGUARÓN
with its marvellos crafts made by aborigenes carving native woods.
In VILLA FLORIDA, a summer resort and fishing village on the Tebycuary
River, we make a brief stop, then continue our trip to SAN IGNACIO
and the Museum of the First Jesuit Ruins. Lunch and on the way
again to ENCARNACIÓN; there a brief citysightseeing with
a spectacular view on the SAN ROQUE GONZALEZ BRIDGE, which unifies
ENCARNACIÓN (Paraguay)with POSADAS(Argentina). Then we
arrive to the hotel, check in, night free.
Day 2
Breakfast
and visit to the RUINS OF JESÚS and TRINIDAD, declared
"UNIVERSAL PATRIMONY OF HUMANITY" by the UNESCO. Lunch
and visit to the prosper colonies of European immigrants of HOHENAU
and OBLIGADO. In the afternoon, we return to Asunción.
NOTE: In cases of heavy rain, only the TRINIDAD
ruins will be visited.
