The
Paraguayan Chaco, also called the green hell, was still unknown
fifty years ago. It is a mysterious, intriguing and wild place,
and has nowadays attracted many visitors because of its abundant
and exotic flora and fauna, its millions of palmtrees. The temperature
in the Chaco varied, and though some claimed that in the Chaco
it never rains, the Nino Phenomenon proved the contrary. We advise
a visit to the Chaco to our adventure loving travelers only.
Day 1
In the morning we start our journey to the AMAZING
PARAGUAYAN CHACO. Along the road we see an enormous variety of
native FLORA and the life of the FAUNA will amaze us. Indian villages
are part of the environment of the highway as well as the PAI
PUCÚ school, built of palmtrees. Impressed by the extension
of this part of the Paraguayan Chaco, approximately at noon we
will arrive at the LOS PIONEROS HOTEL, 415 Kms away from Asuncion.
There we will check in for the next two nights. If necessary other
hotels in Filadelfia are available. After refreshing a bit, we
visit BOQUERON* (base during the war against Bolivia) and if time
allows, YALVE SANGA* (indian village). At night we do a special
tour through the forest.
Day 2
After
breakfast, we visit FILADELFIA and LOMA PLATA, the main cities
of the prosperous MENNONITE colonies. There we will see museums,
industries, commerces, etc. Then we visit LAGUNA CAPITAN*(model

finally return to the hotel.
