The
Paraguayan Chaco, also called the green hell, was still unknown
fifty years ago. It is a mysterious, intriguing and wild place,
and has nowadays attracted many visitors because of its abundant
and exotic flora and fauna, its millions of palmtrees. The temperature
in the Chaco varied, and though some claimed that in the Chaco
it never rains, the Nino Phenomenon proved the contrary. We advise
a visit to the Chaco to our adventure loving travelers only.
Just
before sunrise, we leave Asunción for a brief visit of
the FASCINATING PARAGUAYAN CHACO. We enter the Chaco over the
Trans Chaco highway, where we see an infinity of wild birds (storks,
geese, wild ducks, and many more) as well as the exuberant vegetation
of the Bajo(Lower) Chaco. Many ranches can be seen from the road.
We take a typical "MEDIA MAÑANA" (late breakfast)
in the Chaco and then start heading back for Asuncion. (This visit
only gives you a very brief glimps of the Chaco and is only recommended
to people with very little time)You may appreciate a very small
part of its hidden beauties.
