PARAGUAY

Paraguay is a unique country that still lives and breathes it's traditional indigenous roots. It seems like civilization passed Paraguay, just slightly touching it. The largest part of the country, in terms of language, customs, culture and infrastructure, has hardly changed from the years the fist European set foot on this land. However, it nowadays houses many of Europe's immigrants, that have of course brought some changes.

It only has a population of about 4,7 million people, which leaves plenty of space for abundant nature to flourish and keep civilization at a secondary plan. You experience freedom comparable to the one suggested trough the Marlboro advertisements. Few rules and regulations, few people and a chance to really enjoy your life and pure freedom in the country of the sun and exotic flowers.

The native-Indian population still lives the centuries-long unchanged customs and language. You will find yourself heading back in time over the long empty dirt roads and amongst the tropical vegetation, seeing exotic plants and animals and meeting people trying to communicate with you in the centuries old Tupi-Guarani language. The locals might offer you to join their family circle and share their terere (refreshing typical mate drink).

If you are a fan of rich fishing waters or abundant hunting grounds, there is no place like Paraguay!
