Paraguay is, besides Bolivia, the only inland
country of the new world. Only the Parana River connects it with
the more than 1,000 km away lying ocean. In the north Paraguay
borders Bolivia and in the east Brazil, whereas all southern parts
of the country neighbour Argentina.
The mainly plain country is run through by hilly
formations. Its location is from 54 to 62 degree of western longitude
and 19 to 27 degree of southern latitude. Paraguay's size is about
406,752 km2.
