The north of the country has a tropical climate,
whereas the largest part of Paraguay including the capital Asuncion
has a subtropical one. In the eastern parts of Paraguay it rains
regularly and the soil is therefore very fertile.
The annual average rainfall varies from 1,4000
to 2,000 mm from the eastern to the western parts of the country.
The temperature varies between 40 ºC (only exceptionally)
in the summer and 0 degrees in a short winter (meant are the South
American seasons-which are opposite to the European ones!).
