Day
1: Arriving in Lençóis around 5:30h in the morning.
Check in at your hotel Villa Serrano ***. This excellent 3 star
hotel is located in the city of Lencois and forms a perfect base
for all your excursions, having cafes, bars, restaurants and shops
at walking distance. Rest in Hotel Serrano.
After
some rest join the excursion. We depart towards the Serrano River,
which hás natural swimmingpools. On our way we visit the
sand room, which contains different layers of different sand colours,
naturally formed in the sandy rocks. We pass by the Cachoerinha
(little waterfall) where we can take a delicious swim and on the
highesr peak of the mountains we find the Spring Waterfall, that
mounds into the Lencois River. Also we visit the rock from where
a panoramic view on the Lencois city opens up before us. (Total
trek of 3 km).
With your instructor with all equipment you have the opportunity
to climb in the Parque de Muritiba (near Cachoerinha). The difficulty
of the climb depends on the climbers' level and will be guided
by a professional climbing instructor. No experience required
for beginners' routes. Return to your hotel and overnight at your
hotel.
Day
2: After
breakfast we depart from Lençóis around 08.30 in
the morning, making the first stop on the Mucugezinho river banks,
where we take a hike along the river bank until arriving at the
Devil's Waterfall to take a delicious swim. Here optionally you
can rappel off the rock. Consequently we will go up the Father
Ignácio Rock from where we have a panoramic view of the
highest mountains in the region. We then go to the Iraquara régios
(also known as the city of caves) where we will visit the Fazenda
Pratinha Ranch. Here we can take a delicious swim in the crystal
clear waters, do a snorkelling tour (optional) swimming inside
the Pratinha Cave in which you have an incredible view of millions
of fishes swimming in the crystal clear waters around you. Here,
within the Fazenda, we visit the Blue Lake cave that offers a
spectacular view (swimming not allowed). And finally we continue
to the Sweet Lapa Cave, lying 70 km away from Lençóis,
a 1 km cave rich in calcary formations, which we cross in 1 hour.
Total percours is of 140 km. Drop off back in Lencois and overnight
at your hotel.
Day
3:
At 08.30 after breakfast we depart to the Capão Valley
where we will start a 6km walk to the top of the Fumaça
Waterfall, the highest waterfall in Brazil, with around 360m of
free fall, forming a slight mist. On the way back we will have
a beautiful panoramic view on the Rock Morrão and we take
a bath in the Riachinho waterfall to regenerate our energy. Total
percours is of 170 km with some high level hiking. Arrival back
in Lencois around 18.30 and fly out of Lencois or take the bus
back to Salvador.
