Tour Description

COLONIA
Our tour begins visiting the typical location of Colonia Suiza (Nueva Helvecia) with the Nirvana Hotel, Founders Square and the Schoenstatt Virgin Sanctuary. We'll continue on direction to a farm where we'll enjoy tasting different handmade products in this region center of dairy in Uruguay. Then we'll arrive to Colonia del Sacramento which has been declared ´Heritage of Humanity by Unesco.
Colonia was founded in 1680 and it was The apple of discord between Portugal and Spain during almost a century. We´ll visit the Historical Neighborhood where we'll find: Sighs Street, Holy Sacrament Church, Lighthouse, Portuguese and Spanish museums, Tile Museum (tickets not included). We also see the San Carlos Royal with its old bullring, San Benito Church, Port, back to the downtown of Colonia. Free time for lunch (optional) and personal activities.

PUNTA DEL ESTE
Our tour begins leaving Montevideo driving along the promenade until we arrive to the Interbalnearia Route, passing by through the different beaches which will lead us to Piriapolis, one of our most important seaside resorts. We´ll see its gorgeous promenade, The Argentino Hotel and we'll ascend the ´San Antonio´ hill with a stop in the top for a beautiful panoramic view. We´ll continue to Punta Ballene where we´ll find the famous museum ´Casapueblo´ house of the uruguayan artist Carlos Paez Vilaro. Free time to visit the museum (ticket not included). Then we´ll arrive to Punta del Este driving along the residential neighborhoods to admire the beautiful houses and gardens, visiting the Mansa and Brava Beaches, Maldonado´s Barra and the Port. Free time for lunch and personal activities over Gorlero, the main avenue in the center of Punta. At the end of the tour we'll see the famous ´Conrad Hilton´, one of the most important 5 stars hotels in South America.

MONTEVIDEO
Our tour will take us into the heart of the old town visiting the Matriz Square with the first potable water fountain in the colonial Montevideo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Cabildo (First Town Hall) and Uruguay Social Club. Solis Theatre, Independence Square which stands a monument dedicated to the national hero Jose Artigas and his mausoleum. The citadel gate, Salvo Palace and Estevez Palace (Old Governmental House).Then we’ll take the main avenue 18 de Julio lined with shops, restaurants, bars and office buildings.
Libertador Avenue where we’ll find the Parliament building called ´Legislative Palace´, a magnificent construction entirely covered with local marble and granites. The tour will continue to the fancy neighborhood of Prado which hosts the famous monuments dedicated to the “Last Charruas Indians” and the ´Diligence´ (Stage-Coach), Presidential House. Artigas Boulevard, Governmental House, The Obelisk, Batlle Park, Athletic Track, ´La Carreta´ (Covered Wagon) monument and the Centenario Stadium. We'll continue to the residential area of Carrasco and will take the promenade along the ‘Rio de la Plata’ to return to the downtown passing by the neighborhoods of Punta Gorda with a stop at Virgilio Square for the panoramic view of the city, Malvin, Buceo with the Yacht port, Yacht Club, Pocitos, Punta Carretas, Golf Club, Rodo Park, Mercosur Building, Downtown.
