A quiet coastal town, Tela has a fine beach and several good hotels and restaurants. The central park has benches and shade trees, but a more pleasant spot to take a break is along the boardwalk, where you can enjoy a beer or a coffee with a view of the ocean. Tela is crowded with cars and moto-taxis, but usually it is a quite mellow, even soporific. The exception is during Semana Santa when Tela (and the rest of the north coast) is deluged with vacationers from all over the country.
