Is a Municipality from Honduras' southwestern side, in La Paz. Our land is known particularly for its exceptional coffee quality, which has exceeded its reputation throughout the national and international market. The origin of this reputation is given by the agro-ecological and cultural characteristics weld together in Café de Marcala's crops and preparation. Being this a region with lenca indigenous background, made the arrival of German immigrants during this last century an introduction to a very peculiar joining of cultures, which put together with the amazing agro-ecological qualities of the region resulted in particular characteristics and the immeasurable quality of our coffee, known to be one of the best in Honduras. According to historical documents which belong to German historian, Herman Bauch, coffee crops in Marcala started in 1866.
