Hotel Hanga Roa is situated in an unbeatable position, right on the ocean front at one of the extreme ends of the Hanga Roa Bay, it is the ideal spot from which to enjoy the island, offering excellent views, services and access to amenities. It is only a few minutes from the Mataveri International Airport, the post office, market, restaurants, bank and telecommunication services.
Rapa Nui (big stone), Te Pito o Te Henua (The Naval of the World), or Mata ki te Rango (eye that looks towards the sky) are some of the names that locals use to refer to Easter Island, the most isolated inhabited island in the world.
Its most significant characteristic is the site of almost 1,000 megalithic statues called moai, which are found on the Rano Raraku volcano and spread out along the entire coast of the island. This has given rise to countless theories concerning their construction and transport. It remains one of the last unsolved mysteries on the planet.
Moais, petroglyphs, takona or body painting, tattoos, kai kai, handcrafts, dance, music, language, gastronomy, and their hieroglyphic writing called rongo-rongo, which today remains undeciphered, are a part of the magic that surrounds Rapa Nui.
Rapa Nui, the eastern vertex, which together with Hawaii and New Zealand form what is known as the Polynesian triangle, is located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It has a pleasant sub-tropical climate, surrounded by warm crystal clear waters ideal for scuba diving and surfing, magical sunsets, archaeological riches and incredible places to discover, excellent cuisine, exhibitions of dance and traditional customs and the possibility to share with an ethnic group that has survived isolated from the rest of the world during centuries in this Easter Island, declared a World Heritage Site in 1995.
